PocketT is a free WordPress theme provided by Nyssa Brown Design. Its sole purpose is to be compact and focus on what's important in a blog: the content, while still maintaining an interesting yet simple design.

This is where you would explain what your blog is about, or about yourself. Whatever suits you. Of course, you're restricted to the amount you can put here, be sure to keep an eye on what the amount is and how it looks... so go on... tease people... you know you want to.. ;]

Do keywords in URLs improve your search engine rankings?

This is a question we hear quite a lot. Are search engines looking at the keywords that are included in your URLs and do these keywords have any effect on the rankings of your website?

The answer: Yes, they do!

Matt Cutts (Google) recently posted a video about this question. He stated that the keywords in your URLs do help, but only a little. He also stated one should not obsess with the order of the keywords and that you shouldn’t use too many keywords in the same URL.

Search engines look at more than 200 factors to give your website the ranking it deserves. Most keywords are extracted from the content on the web pages, but search engines also consider the URL of a web page to find related keywords.

If you want to get the best possible rankings for your website, it can help to include your target keywords in the URLs of your website. Make sure you don’t overdo this so that search engines don’t think that you are spamming.
